John Frinzi and Aaron Scherz return to The Habitat in 2026!

About the Show…

John and Aaron have been working together regularly for a number of years now ever since meeting at the Key West Songwriters Fest, and it is always a wonderful evening when they are both on stage at the same time!

About John…

John Frinzi blends folk, pop and country, delivering a sunny, laid-back beach vibe. A gifted singer and songwriter, Frinzi has built an audience through craft and originality. An early demo caught the ear of legendary pedal steel guitarist Doyle Grisham, a longtime member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, and their working relationship led to John’s first album, “Into The Dawn.” His second release, “Shoreline,” showcases Frinzi’s versatility as a songwriter and vocalist with many of the songs co-written by Tom Corcoran, co-writer of the Buffett classics,“Fins,” and “Cuban Crime of Passion”.

Most recently, John teamed up with multi-platinum songwriter and producer Aaron Scherz to release the EP “Blue Sky View” and a number of singles including “Florida Man”. Tracks from all of these albums remain in regular rotation on Sirius/XM’s Radio Margaritaville.

A seasoned live performer, Frinzi has toured nationally, performed in the Caribbean and Europe and has been featured at major festivals including Musikfest, The Keith Sykes Songwriters Celebration, Key West Songwriters Festival, Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival and has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Jesse Winchester, Mac McAnally, Ricky Skaggs, The Coral Reefer Band, Todd Snider and Maria Muldaur.

About Aaron…

Heartbreak proved to be a good career move for songwriter and producer Aaron Scherz, who recently scored his first No. 1 song with Dot Records duo Maddie & Tae’s gold-selling single “Girl In A Country Song.” “I decided to be a songwriter because a girl broke up with me in college,” Scherz says. “I thought, ‘I can write a song about this.’ So I bought a guitar and learned how to play. It was then that I discovered I really loved writing songs.”

Hit Songwriter/Producer Aaron Scherz always knew he was going to do something “different”, but he couldn’t have imagined that “different” would involve a multi-platinum Songwriting career! His artists credits include Maddie&Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” and Leith Urban’s “Boy Gets a Truck” and of course all the songs he plays that “Kenny (Chesney) Didn’t”

SATURDAY SHOW – Doors at 5:30, Show at 6:30

About The Show and Charlie…

When singer-songwriter Charlie Imes penned the rhyme “I’m leaving behind a trail of sand, bringing my beach all across this land,” he summed up his approach to life. Imes comes by his coastal vibe honestly. He honed his craft on the beaches of Southern California from an early age, entertaining friends around the fire pit with his guitar, songs and stories. His performance style has stayed true to those early times. Whether imparting his laid back, jazzy folk rock sound or directly addressing his audience, Imes is a above all storyteller. The songs he chooses, whether his own or borrowed from other musicians, speak to his life experiences, nuggets of which he shares with his audience.

In 2008, Imes recorded his first CD, “On an Island,” which was nominated for a 2009 San Diego Music Award in the category of Best Americana or Country Album. He followed that with three subsequent albums, “Summer’s Here” (2014), “Gypsy Soul” (2017) and “Sittin’ Here” (2024), squeezing in the release of his single “Sailing To Nowhere” in 2023. He’s spent many summers touring the continent playing house concerts, festivals and commercial venues in Mexico, Canada and across the U.S., covering the 4 corners (San Diego to Seattle to New England to Key West) and much of the country in between. In 2016 he relocated from San Diego to Tampa, FL, lured by the beauty, weather and professional opportunities. Charlie has established some roots and loves it in Tampa, but he will always consider himself a San Diegan in his soul.

A Kilted Christmas with Eireann’s Call

By |
Saturday December 9, 2023 5:50 PM to 10:00 PM

It’s KILT time – A Celtic Christmas!

Erieann’s Call Returns to The Habitat

Note – this is a Saturday show… Music at 6:30PM, Doors at 5:30

Come join the members of Eireann’s Call as they take you on a holiday themed journey through Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Canada, Galicia, Brittany and more. A charming and, at times poignant, narration helps the show bring heartwarming sparkle to start your Yuletide season.

With a wide range of instrumentation including bagpipes, fiddle, accordion, keys, guitar, bass, drums and tight 3 and 4 part vocal harmonies, interspersed with a wee bit of storytelling and some questionable yarns to spin, you will certainly enjoy this show!

About the Band…

Eireann’s Call is a classy, powerful band whose music spans the Celtic nations, with World Music influences from the Middle East, North Africa, Appalachia, Scandinavia and more.

David Doersch (vocals, bagpipes, accordion, keys, pennywhistle, long stories, groaner puns) and Cat Doersch (drums, big bertha, vocals), the husband and wife founders of the band, toured for years both nationally and internationally as the leaders of Celtic Rock band, Coyote Run – where they headlined major festivals and played to sold out crowds in concert halls and clubs.

Rich McGuire (guitar, vocals, percussion, straight-man, and occasional live from the bathroom humor when he forgets to turn off his wireless mic) has toured for years both nationally and internationally from huge festivals to cruise ships to music clubs, and has been a staple in the Trop Rock scene as well, reflecting his wide range of musical styles.

Rounding out the group Steve Smith hailing from the Ashville NC area playing a mean bass and a Christ Dawson on fiddle stroking a mean bow. Together, you get one heck of a great show!

Suggested Donation for this show is $20 a person, and there are limited VIP seats available as well by request, Suggested Donation for VIP is $35 a person, you can request this through the notes field on the RSVP… All donations are made at the door. We really ask that if you RSVP that you actually attend the show – if you find you cant, please let us know at least 48 hours before the show so that we may offer your spot to someone else…
