Heather Vidal returns to The Habitat for her solo show!

Important! Pre-donation info at the end of this page!

About Heather:

Heather Vidal has evolved into a singer/songwriter who has spent the past 25 years performing with the acoustic duo Copper Sky and has been a collaborator with several musicians in the TropRock genre including Dennis McCaughey (performing together as Tropical Soul), Kristie Bobal and Linley Tolls (their trio ‘Girlz Rule’), and many others, who have opened doors to the Parrot Head community fundraisers and house concerts which are held all over the country.

With these wonderful connections, she is now branching out on her own at the ripe old age of… She writes her own music as well as interprets almost any genre of song. Heather’s keen sense of melody and timing allows her to share a unique interpretation of a writer’s material while honoring the artist’s message.

We are looking forward to having her back at The Habitat this time as a solo performance, to tell her stories and play her songs!

EE returns to The Habitat – he always puts on a stellar show!

this show is now at maximum rsvp. Contact us through email if you want to be on a wait list!

Important! Pre-donation info at the end of this page!

About Eric:

Eric Erdman was writing songs at 8 years old. When he and his older brother sat at the end of their family’s pier on Mobile Bay, they learned to play guitar to the rhythm of the waves and they pulled as many tunes from that water as they did fish.

Eric’s passion for and knowledge of music grew throughout his high school and college years. After graduating from the University of South Alabama with a B.S. in Statistics, Eric continued to pursue his music career, forming the funk rock band The Ugli Stick. The group recorded four albums and toured worldwide for years with Eric as frontman.

Soon Eric joined the writing staff in Muscles Shoals at legendary Fame Studios, where he not only met and impressed producer Jimmy Nutt, but also soaked up inspiration from the history and roots of the small north Alabama town known as “The Hit Recording Capital of the World.”

Smart lyrics, gorgeous melodies, soulful ballads: Eric’s range transcends genre. As a guitarist, Eric’s mastery and versatility has him touring with world-class acts like the Buddy Rich Band, Kristy Lee, Nadirah Shakoor. Besides his own singer/songwriter credentials, Eric produces projects for other artists as well.

A Most Special Day – Charlie Imes Birthday

By |
Saturday May 29, 2021 5:30 PM

You are invited to a special concert – Charlie Imes and The Sun Dog Band!

Important! Pre-donation info at the end of this page!

This concert will have a special flair – Charlie is also celebrating another decade marker trip around the sun.

An artist’s soul is most enriched when others are appreciating their artistry, so for this special day, Charlie has chosen to share his artistry at The Habitat! He is bringing along a few friends that will join him as “The Sun Dog Band” which will make a special night for everyone!

A brief note about Charlie:

When singer-songwriter Charlie Imes penned the rhyme “I’m leaving behind a trail of sand, bringing my beach all across this land,” he didn’t just have the basis for the title track of his forthcoming album. He summed up his approach to life.

Imes comes by his coastal vibe honestly. He honed his craft on the beaches of California from an early age, entertaining friends around the fire pit with his guitar, songs and stories.

His performance style has stayed true to those early times. Whether imparting his laid back, jazzy folk rock sound or directly addressing his audience, Imes is a above all storyteller. The songs he chooses, whether his own or borrowed from other musicians, speak to his life experiences, nuggets of which he shares with his audience.

Scott Kirby at The Habitat

By |
Saturday April 10, 2021 5:30 PM

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, sailor and road warrior are all words that aptly describe Scott Kirby. Writing songs for a new CD, performing 150 live shows a year throughout the US and Canada, and holding down the stage at his own club—Key West’s Smokin’ Tuna Saloon—keep the barnacles off this modern-day troubadour.

A creative lyricist and accomplished finger-style acoustic guitarist with an expressive voice, Kirby describes himself as a direct descendent of the ’70s singer/songwriter movement.
Over the years Kirby has shared the stage with some of his favorite artists: Carole King, Jimmy Buffett, Livingston Taylor, Tom Rush, Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer and others. When not on the road or performing in Key West, Kirby splits his time between Livingston, Montana, and the coast of New Hampshire where he can often be found sailing, a lifelong passion of this descendent of Newfoundland fishermen.

Yes, Scott Kirby is—as he readily admits—lucky enough.
